RiverOak lays out plans for Manston reopening

[ January 25, 2016   //   ]

US investor RiverOak has made a pre-application to the UK Planning Inspectorate for plans to reopen Manston airport in Kent as a mainly freight gateway. The developers are expected to submit a full application in late 2016.

The plans envisage that the currently closed airport would reopen as a mainly freight gateway, handling around 12,000 movements a year.

Manston was closed by then  owners Stagecoach transport operator Ann Gloag in 2014 amid widespread criticism from the air cargo industry.
