Roof collapses on freight airship prototype

[ October 10, 2013   //   ]

The Aeroscraft project to build a freight-carrying airship suffered a setback on 7 October when the roof of the World War II era hangar housing the experimental craft partially collapsed. Damage to the craft housed at a former Marine base in Orange County was however reported to be slight. Aeroscraft is planning to build production versions of the machine that would be capable of carrying a payload of up to 250 tonnes. (See Freight Break, FBJ 5 2013.)
