Science on the move

[ February 19, 2014   //   ]

Two MINIs being unloaded from the hold of an Emirates 777 flight in Glasgow are an unusual enough sight in themselves, but these were no ordinary cars. They are actually mini laboratories owned by Paisley-based Life Sciences Solutions. The trunks of the Minis transform at the touch of a button into a fully functional DNA sequencing lab and tour the world teaching young people about the subject. Not so long ago, you needed a PhD and a lab full of equipment to do the job, rather than the boot of a small car.
