Seatless in Shanghai

[ April 14, 2020   //   ]

Lufthansa Cargo is to operate 51 additional weekly cargo flights between Germany, Austria and Asia by removing seats from several passenger aircraft. Some 14 flights a week are currently being operated with Boeing 777F wide-body freighters but from Easter onwards 35 weekly flights with Lufthansa passenger aircraft will be added exclusively for cargo transport. The cabin space of these aircraft can be loaded with cargo, adding about 30 tons capacity. Parts of the cabin interior of four aircraft will be removed.

There will be two daily connections from Frankfurt to Shanghai and one daily connection to Beijing with Airbus A330-300 aircraft, along with an Airbus A350-900 daily between Munich, Shanghai and Beijing.
