Second LNG ship for Brittany Ferries

Brittany Ferries’ latest LNG-powered ferry, Salamanca, was launched at the CMJL shipyard in Weihai, China, on 6 January. Due to enter service in Spring 2020, she is the second of three E-Flexer class ships ordered by Brittany Ferries and will join sister-ship Galicia, which went into service in December 2020.

A similar LNG-powered vessel, Santoña will follow in 2023. Both Salamanca and Santoña will routes connecting the UK with Spain. Like her sister, Salamanca will weigh over 42,000 gross tonnes and will have over 2.7km of lane-space for passenger and freight vehicles.
