[ July 4, 2025   //   ]

Testing, inspection and certification company SGS has secured a three-year contract to operate Tanzania’s pre-shipment verification of conformity programme. Under the renewed contract, SGS will provide services including document verification, physical inspections and laboratory testing through its global network to prevent import of substandard goods and ensuring regulated products meet quality, health and environmental standards.

All regulated products arriving in Tanzania without the required certificate of conformity are now subject to a 15% penalty based on cost, insurance and freight (CIF) value.
