Southampton moves up a gear

Minister of State for International Trade, Greg Hands opened ABP Southampton’s new vehicle export terminal on 2 November.

The new Pacific Terminal has been completed ahead of schedule and adds 3,400 spaces.

Southampton is the UK hub for automotive with nine lines undertaking 110 calls to 52 ports in 40 countries every month and the new site will support manufacturers including Jaguar Land Rover.

The minister (pictured left, with ABP with director Alastair Welch)  predicted that the new terminal “will move Britain into fifth gear when it comes to world car exports”.
