SriLankan and WebCargo open up Asian opportunities

SriLankan Cargo will join the Freightos’ WebCargo platform later this quarter, enabling digital booking and payments across its network for the first time.

The carrier’s Colombo base is a growing transshipment hub connecting India, the Gulf, Southeast Asia, and Europe and, through WebCargo Pay, non-IATA forwarders in Asia gain access without airline credit lines, a key factor for emerging markets.

WebCargo also enhances interlining options, supporting partnerships with Qatar, Emirates, Etihad, Turkish, and other and, amid increased tariff and sourcing volatility, digital interlining offers a more agile, diversified routing strategy.

SriLankan Cargo’s network connects to 32 online destinations in 21 countries and over 200 destinations with the support of its’ partners, with particularly strong capacity to India and the Middle East Gulf.
