Start practising CDS Exports now, urges ASM

[ December 14, 2023   //   ]

Freight software firm ASM is urging companies to start practicing CDS exports now, despite the postponed migration of inventory-linked exports to the Chief replacement system to March 2024.

It says: “We cannot overstate enough the importance of practicing submitting inventory-linked exports for CDS in Trader Dress Rehearsal (TDR).”

All users of ASM’s Sequoia software have access to TDR, it says, adding: “Not only does practicing allow us to recognise and fix any bugs in Sequoia, but it is imperative to ensuring you are ready when the deadline comes.”

ASM says that many traders were far from prepared for CDS imports when it was introduced around a year ago, but those who put the effort into TDR were noticeably more successful when migrating to live.

Meanwhile, the live implementation of NCTS (New Computerised Transit System) Phase 5 has been extended until 1 July 2024, following pressure from ASM and trade to ensure everyone is ready.

ASM will be holding familiarisation sessions early in the new year, and will deliver Sequoia functionality well in advance of the deadline, giving users enough time to prepare accordingly.
