Stena campaign brings sight to Africa

[ October 1, 2019   //   ]

For the third year in a row Stena Line is running a donation campaign for Mercy Ships, which brings free medical care to hard-pressed communities with its floating hospital. In October customers on Stena ferries restaurants, bars, cafés and shops are given the opportunity to donate by rounding up every purchase. All donations will be matched by the UK Government.

Since 1976 Mercy Ships has provided nearly 50,000 eye operations for patients such as Monique from Cameroon who lost her sight from cataract at six years of age. But at the age of nine a simple eye-operation on board Mercy Ships changed her life in less than 20 minutes.
