Stena Irish Sea services disrupted after collision

Stena ferry services between Birkenhead and Belfast have been disrupted following a collision between one of its ferries and the Union Moon freighter in Belfast Lough, the BBC reported. There are no reports of any injuries and the Stena ferry has now docked at the Stena terminal while the Union Moon

It happened close to the Fairway buoy about a mile and a half from shore between Carrickfergus and Helen’s Bay around 19:45 GMT on Wednesday (7 March).

There are no reports of any injuries and the Stena ferry, which was nearing the end of its passage from Birkenhead, has now docked at the Stena terminal. The Union Moon was accompanied by the coastguard as it was brought back to Belfast.

Latest information on the Stena website was showing both the 10.30 daytime and the 22.30 night departure operated by the Stena Lagan and Stena Feronia as cancelled in both directions.

The captain of the Union Moon has been arrested by police.
