Stobart chief quits over accounts error

[ August 26, 2019   //   ]

Eddie Stobart chief executive Alex Laffey has stood down from the logistics company after its profits were found to be overstated by £2 million. Shares in the company had fallen from £1.60 a share in early 2017 to 70p before trading was suspended. Half-year results due for publication on 29 August will be delayed until early September. Laffey will meanwhile be replaced by Sebastien Desreumaux.
