Strong start for P&O’s Swedish service
[ February 3, 2016 // Chris ]P&O Ferries says its new service to and from Sweden in partnership with Swedish-based SOL Continent Line is now carrying over 2,000 units a month. Trailers are shipped via P&O Ferries’ North Sea hub in Zeebrugge, connecting with SOL’s Zeebrugge to Gothenburg service. Since the service began last year, P&O Ferries has shipped a total of 2,068 freight units in both directions between Gothenburg and Teesport, Tilbury and Hull.
Commercial director Janette Bell said the service was popular with Scottish whisky makers exporting to the highly lucrative Swedish and Norwegian markets, for example.
