Subdued start to year for IAG

IAG Cargo said its first quarter revenue from January 1 to March 31, 2013,was down 7.2% to €270 million against the same period in 2012. Volume, at 1,364 million cargo tonne kilometres, was down 8.0% while cargo capacity was down 1.7% per cent, so overall yield was up by 0.8%. Managing director Steve Gunning said that the market had been weak, particularly on the North American trade lanes and industrial action at Iberia during February and March also affected load factors.
