Swain to handle stone at London Gateway

[ March 9, 2021   //   ]

National distribution business Swain Group has won a contract to provide port centric storage and distribution for natural stone supplier, Global Stone. Swain will dedicate two acres of its existing storage site at DP World London Gateway to the management of Global Stone’s inbound containers though both London Gateway and other UK ports.

It will also include stock control of over 10,000 crates and packs, as well as the routing and delivery of national distribution through the Swain Group’s general haulage fleet and associated divisions. Until recently, GlobalStone’s stock only entered the UK from the Port of Felixstowe and was held at one site for nationwide distribution. However, following the company’s recent growth and acquisition of Digby Stone, coupled with increased demand and a need to reduce reliance on a single port, led Global Stone to seek an additional logistics solution.
