[ January 9, 2018   //   ]

Turkish-owned Ekol Logistics is to launch its own operations in Sweden under the Ekol Nordics banner during January 2018 – the 16th country where it has established its own operations.

It will offer international FTL, LTL and groupage transport, initially between the Nordic countries and Turkey, Middle East and other countries where Ekol has its own companies. The next stage will be connections with the whole Europe, added regional director of Ekol Nordics, Jarmo Halonen.

Ekol Nordics is also planning to start short sea services to and from the Mediterranean region in the second half of 2018.  It already owns and operates six ro ro vessels and operates two ports in its home region.

Halonen said first operations would be centred on an office in Gothenburg, adding: “In the next two years we aim to have 30 employees and our target is to reach €30m yearly turnover by the end of 2020.”
