Independent forwarder and consolidator network FPS Group has appointed Casablanca-based multimodal forwarder Light Shipping Lines as its member for Morocco and Singapore-based FP Shipping as network member, to strengthen its transshipment capability across the network. FP Shipping’s main business is currently ocean consolidation, but it intends to exploit its location within such an important logistics epicentre to develop airfreight, and sea-air business opportunities.

DB Schenker has upgraded its Moroccan branches at Tanger and Casablanca to offer similar quality standards to its European land transport network. Schenker Maroc runs daily direct lines to Spain, France, Germany and Italy. DB Schenker has also gained TAPA FSR A-level security certification for its facility in Casablanca.

OPDR has also set up its own Moroccan company, OPDR Maroc Sarlau in Casablanca. The line offers up to three regular sailings per week to and from Morocco. A weekly direct service connects Tilbury and north European ports with Casablanca and vice-versa and a second via the Canary Islands.
