Group proposes trans-Pennine lorry shuttle trains

A group of rail experts is advocating building a trans-Pennine ro ro lorry shuttle linking the M1 and M60 motorways to relieve the A628 Woodhead road between Manchester and Sheffield as part of a comprehensive plan to revitalise rail services in the region.
