O licencing for Ulster

The Northern Ireland Assembly has unanimously passed the Goods Vehicles Licensing of Operators Transport Bill, bringing the O Licence regime to Ulster for the first time. It will bring Operator Licensing, to all operators of commercial vehicles above 3.5 tonnes. The move was welcomed by the Freight Transport Association, which said it would improve road safety and environmental standards, introduce fairer competition and help tackle organised crime. [+]
