Russian railways tests fridge containers

Russian Railways’ JSC RZD logistics arm is testing a new temperature-control system for  perishable goods from China to Russia. The first refrigerated container train carrying fruit and vegetables left Dalian on 8 August and is expected to arrive at in Moscow railway in 18-20 days. Containers are connected to a diesel-generator wagon to maintain the correct temperature. India to Russia on the rails

Russian Railways' RZD Logistics subsidiary and Azerbaijan Railways are to develop an international north–south transport corridor. Between India and Russia via Iran and Azerbaijan. It will offer transit times of 19 days, less than half the typical time by sea and a rate of $3,146 per 40ft container. [+]

Ready for the games

Russian Railways (RZD) Logistics division is now working around the clock to serve the Winter Sochi Olympics and Paralympics in Sochi through Veseloe station. It is providing covered warehouse and open terminal sites including services for containers, oversize and food cargo receiving and forwarding to the Olympic sites.   [+]
