Memorial to Felixstowe ferry tragedy

A memorial has been unveiled at Wolsey Gardens in Felixstowe to the victims of a ferry disaster 31 years ago, the BBC reports. Six people were killed when Townsend Thoresen's European Gateway, capsized after colliding with the British Rail ferry Speedlink Vanguard on the night of 19 December 1982. The Townsend Thoresen ship was left lying on a sandbank about a mile out of port and was refloated in 1983.   [+]
