Tata Consultancy Services has deployed its TCS DynaPORT terminal operating system at Forth Ports’ new Tilbury2 unaccompanied freight ferry terminal. The platform is already implemented at Forth Ports’ lo lo container terminals at Tilbury and Grangemouth in Scotland. It streamlines order-to-invoice processes and supports vessel, rail, truck, barge, container, break-bulk, liquid bulk, dry bulk and ro-ro requirements and is used at over 80 terminals worldwide.

The implementation, which commenced in February, was interrupted by the covid lockdown but ubsequently, all phases of the implementation –were successfully executed.

Forth Ports’ chief operating officer Stuart Wallace, said: “The system has more than lived up to expectations; with vehicle turnaround at world-class levels and highly rated vessel performance in action within a week. Even when sudden changes or additions needed to be made, the configurability and adaptability of the system allowed us to quickly evolve the technology to support these changes.”
