Tech firms invited to pitch to North-east ports

[ December 11, 2019   //   ]

The Port of Tyne is to hold an Innovation Live! event on Tuesday 17 December. Teams or individuals will compete to pitch tech solutions or concepts to a panel of experts, with the chance of winning prize funding if the panel judge their idea to have the ability to advance maritime technology. Entry is free of charge.

The expert panel consists of Port of Tyne chief executive Matt Beeton, PD Ports chief executive Frans Calje, Accenture managing director Helen Baker and Port of Rotterdam business manager of digital development, Raoul Tan.

Earlier, Tuyne launched the UK’s first Maritime 2050 Innovation Hub including a hackathon event, which saw teams competing to win prize funding to develop technology that enables autonomous solutions across the spectrum of maritime logistics.
