Thames traffic at ten-year high

[ March 8, 2019   //   ]

Traffic through the Port of London reached 53.2 million tonnes in 2018, a level last seen more than a decade ago. It followed strong growth in containerised cargoes, particularly at DP World London Gateway, which attracted a number of new services. Container trades led the growth, up by 3.4 million tonnes, and topping 20 million tonnes for the first time. Unitised cargo throughput also increased at the Port of Tilbury and the Cobelfret facility.
