Three decades of express freight

[ March 21, 2014   //   ]

Thirty years ago, British Airways sent its first express package from Jersey to London Heathrow on board one of its BAC 1-11 aircraft. The product, now named Prioritise, was launched in 1984 and today covers over 350 worldwide destinations. IAG head of commercial David Shepherd, comments: “Before this service was launched, cargo was typically broken down into either mail or general cargo. Now our services are tailored to the specific types of goods that we transport, taking into account the unique requirements of each product category – whether that is time-sensitivity, as in the case of Prioritise, or temperature-sensitivity as with Constant Climate.”
