Thumbs up for Chauncy Maples

[ July 3, 2012   //   ]

Spirits are riding high amongst the workforce renovating the Malawian lake steamer Chauncy Maples as a floating clinic, says Ross Girdler, project manager in Monkey Bay.

Marine surveyors from the Ministry of Transport who inspected the ship’s hull at Monkey Bay said they were pleased with the professionalism and the standard to which the work is being carried out.

‘We are happy to be working with a professional and well-organised renovation project,’ said Lloyd Banda, acting chief surveyor of the Marine Department.
