Tilbury celebrates millionth unit with ministerial visit

[ December 4, 2015   //   ]

Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, Robert Goodwill took a tour of the port of Tilbury this week. Arriving by boat (how else?) from central London, he saw at first hand the major investments being made by owners Forth Ports, and its role in supporting nationally significant projects, from Crossrail to Tideway. He was joined by Thurrock MP, Jackie Doyle-Price.
This week Tilbury handled its one millionth freight unit with P&O Ferries who operate to Zeebrugge and has enjoyed a 300% increase in volumes since the route was launched eight years ago.
