The Port of Tilbury welcomed Maritime Minister, Keir Mather and Department for Transport colleagues for a briefing and tour.

The Minister was joined by Thurrock MP, Jen Craft, and was welcomed by Forth Ports regional director, David Webster, who led the visit outlining the impacts of the significant investment across the port over recent years, including the opportunities via the Thames Freeport and the port’s diverse onsite activities.

The Minister also met the Merchant Navy Welfare Board at the Tilbury Seafarers Centre, before being shown the new 16-bay e-HGV charging station.

The Minister toured the rest of the port including Tilbury2, the country’s largest unaccompanied freight ferry terminal and biggest construction processing terminal before continuing to the site of Tilbury3, which recently received outline planning permission to develop a 100-acre brownfield site.
