TNT launches Georgia road route

[ September 23, 2015   //   ]

TNT has launched a scheduled road connection from Europe to Georgia. A new line haul will connect Georgia’s capital Tbilisi with TNT’s European Road Network (ERN) via Istanbul, to over 40 European countries. TNT says it will offer competitive prices and transit times for parcels and palletised freight as well as allowing shipment of larger (up to 30cu m) and heavier items (up to 1,000kg per piece on a pallet).
At the same time, TNT is reducing European road transit times to/from Moscow by up to 48 hours (depending on origin) by changing the route for its trucks. Until now, TNT exclusively connected Russia via Turku (Finland), its northernmost hub within the European Road Network but will also connect via its Warsaw hub.
Both improvements are part of TNT’s Outlook strategy to move more shipments by road.
