TNT to build Euro-hub in Dartford

[ February 24, 2016   //   ]

TNT is to build a new international road hub and combined domestic regional sort centre in the Dartford area.

The multi-million euro development is part of the company’s on-going strategy to invest in its core European network and enhance operational efficiency and service quality. The 600,000 sq ft site is expected to open in quarter two 2017.

International network and operations director TNT UK International and Ireland, Steve Meadows, said: “The Dartford area was chosen for its strong road links and proximity to the South East of England and Greater London, as well as both ferry and Eurotunnel services.”

The development is being carried out by Exton Estates, whose director, James Mawson, added: “’We are pleased to be working with TNT on this new distribution hub and will have the building ready for handover to them in September. We believe that the site’s premier location, just off Junction 1a of the M25, will ensure that TNT can operate successfully, drawing on good quality employment from the Dartford area.’’

TNT opened a ‘super depot’ for the South-west in Swindon in October 2015.
