Leicester firm chuffed with China rail delivery

[ September 26, 2017   //   ]

Leicester-based freight firm CML has completed its first ever rail freight delivery from China.

The heavy weight, high value production parts were for a client that was faced with a production line stop, had the goods not arrived within 28 days. In the event, the 4,957-mile journey from Shenyang in China to Duisburg in Germany took just 18 days, nearly two weeks quicker than it would have taken by sea.

Freight operations manager, Pat Treanor, said it was “a middle ground between cost and speed of delivery”.

CML has now booked three additional rail freight containers for the client.
