Train tests successful

[ January 29, 2013   //   ]

Eurotunnel says that it successfully completed systems and safety tests of a latest generation Siemens Vectron locomotive through the Channel Tunnel on the night of 25-26 January. The loco hauled wagons with a total weight of 1,350 tonnes and completed a series of traction, braking and electrical tests. Eurotunnel’s ambition is to operate rail freight between the UK and continental Europe without the need to use the very specialised and expensive Class 92 locomotives.
