Transet and ICTSI sign deal for Durban
[ December 11, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]Transnet SOC has signed a 25-year partnership agreement to operate Durban Container Terminal with International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI). The deal is expected to enhance terminal productivity and increase throughput and pave the way for an upgrade and development of Pier 2 from January 2026 with new equipment and technology. DCT Pier 2 capacity is expected to increase from 2 million to 2.8 million TEU and with gross crane moves per hour increasing from 18 to 28 and ship working hours from 60 to 120.
