Two decades of flying the Pond

[ October 20, 2011   //   ]

American Airlines Cargo division celebrated 20 years of flying directly between London Heathrow and the US with a reception for more than 100 of its key cargo customers. VP Cargo, Joe Reedy flew in to mark the event.

Back in 1991 AA Cargo was based from an off-airport location and had just eight flights per week into the US. Today, from its on-airport cargo terminal the airline puts more than a million kilos of freight and over 45,000kg of mail onto its 17 daily services to Boston, Chicago, New York, Raleigh/Durham, Miami, Dallas/Fort Worth and Los Angeles. More than 20 members of the AA Cargo team have been with the airline since it started operations from London.
