Union exposes DHL’s ‘shameful secret’

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) presented DHL with “a catalogue of shame” on 2 November – evidence, it said, that the global delivery company was turning a blind eye to illegal and punitive anti-union, anti-worker campaigns at its Turkish subsidiary.

To back up its allegations ITF also unveiled the results of an investigation by US academic Professor John Logan (www.itfglobal.org/files/seealsodocs/36752/JohnLoganReport.pdf)

Aggressive and unlawful: a report into Deutsche Post DHL operations in Turkey, says that DHL used “unfair and illegal sackings, threats and intimidation” to create a climate of fear within the company. However, parent company Deutsche Post DHL had tried to discredit the allegations “despite compelling evidence from several sources”, it said.
