UPS tries to derail FedEx-TNT deal again
[ April 8, 2016 // Chris ]UPS has made a fresh attempt to halt rival FedEx’s takeover of TNT by asking the EU to overturn its veto of its own takeover bit for the Dutch operator three years ago. UPS reportedly has asked the Luxembourg-based General Court to overturn the veto because of mistakes made by antitrust regulators. It is expected to argue that the judgement contained errors in examining the likely price effects of the planned takeover.
A more recent attempt by UPS to block the deal in Brazil appeared to have faltered in late March after the Brazilian authorities threw out an appeal there against the FedEx-TNT deal.
