Vaccine is Amman-bound

[ January 22, 2021   //   ]

Worldwide Flight Services’ Frankfurt Cargo Services arm put its first BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines into the hold of an Amman-bound Royal Jordanian Airlines’ Airbus A319.

FCS, the largest airline-independent cargo handler at Frankfurt, has been completing its preparations to support Covid vaccine shipments as part of WFS’ Project Coldstream initiative to move an anticipated 16 billion doses of vaccine. In Frankfurt, this has included gaining CEIV certification by IATA in September as well as the Pharma and Good Distribution Practice certification by the European Union in November.

As well as dedicated pharma handling personnel to check integrity of packaging ensuring that consignments are maintained at a strict -70°C, FCS  has shortened handover times for ramp transportation.
