VGM platform handles 12,000 transactions

[ December 5, 2016   //   ]

The SolasVGM software platform that helps shippers reduce the costs and processes associated with verified gross mass (VGM) requirements has completed 12,000 transactions, five months after going live.

It has been developed by Marine Transport International in partnership with data company Black Swan, and allows shippers to submit the VGM information for multiple containers through one portal directly to carriers, no matter who they are working with.

SOLASVGMis built using the blockchain, a public ledger where transactions are recorded and can be shared with multiple parties without needing to go through a central point.
