Virgin flies to Norway for the first time

[ January 29, 2021   //   ]

Virgin Atlantic is extending its cargo-only network to Evenes, its first ever flights between London Heathrow and Norway.

The twice weekly Boeing 787-9 flights from the north-western hub will offer over 100 tonnes of capacity for the Norwegian seafood and fish industry.

Connections are available at Heathrow to various US destinations and other gateways on Virgin’s network. Exports to the US will reach destination up to 72 hours faster than current solutions through Oslo.

Virgin Atlantic has worked with forwarder Kuehne+Nagel to prepare the sev ice. Challenges included limited daylight hours and cold and windy weather. All pilots took part in special training for the unique approaches and departures.
