Wallenius to run Gothenburg ro ro

The Port of Gothenburg has appointed Wallenius Wilhelmsen to operate its vehicle and ro ro terminal from February 2026, following a procurement process It takes over from Logent Ports and Terminals, which has been operating the terminal since 2011.

WW will take over operations under a twelve-year concession agreement and will set up an independent company for the purpose.

Gothenburg Port is Sweden’s largest vehicle port, with the terminal handling most of its traffic, along with machinery for the mining industry, wind turbine components, transformers, house modules, and other types of project cargo. It has two quay positions, 240,000 square meters of terminal space, rail connection, and pre-delivery inspection facilities and handled 267,000 new vehicles in 2023, 37% of the total Swedish market.

WW will invest nearly €6 million to modernize terminal areas, buildings and infrastructure.
