WEC Lines launches Zeebrugge-Dublin route

[ July 28, 2025   //   ]

WEC Lines has launched a weekly container service between Zeebrugge, Dublin and Le Havre. It will be operated by a 612-TEU owned vessel in a fixed seven-day rotation, departing Zeebrugge on Thursdays, arriving in Dublin on Sundays. On the return leg the service also calls in Le Havre.

WEC now calls in Dublin three times a week, as it is also a port of call on its existing Spanish and Portuguese services.

Managing director WEC Lines UK, Roger Megann, said: “WEC Lines has been active in the Irish market for over 30 years from Portugal. In 2024, we launched a dedicated Bilbao call connecting Dublin, facilitating onward linkages to and from inland Spain and the Canaries and 2025 will see the launch of this new service connecting Dublin to Zeebrugge.”

WEC Line would also extend to the Baltics and beyond whilst continuing to develop markets in Portugal, Spain, Morocco and East Africa, he added.

WEC Lines says that Zeebrugge allows it to avoid the congested ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam. General manager WEC Belgium, Philip Collet, said: “Zeebrugge offers an easy port approach, multimodal hinterland connectivity opportunities, a short transit time to Ireland, and, above all, a valuable addition to our network to meet the needs of our customers.”
