Wincanton sounds off-quay note in Felixstowe

[ June 13, 2016   //   ]

Logistics operator Wincanton has opened a new container storage facility in Bourn, Cambridgeshire to help customers using Felixstowe.

Located at a former airfield on the A14 and about 50 miles from the port, the site has space for several thousand containers and has been created to meet growing demand for better value off-quay storage. It allows customers to make more reactive decisions about stock management to meet consumer demand, says Wincanton managing director, Chris Fenton.

He adds: “From our continuous conversations with our partners and customers we know this is a facility that will benefit them. We see this as another important step in working with our business partners to streamline their supply chains and add value to their business.”

The launch closely follows Wincanton’s recent investment in port-centric operations in Southampton.
