Young talent spearheads electric truck adoption

Matthew Scoble, a 23-year-old eHGV Transport Planner was the mastermind behind Kuehne + Nagel’s pioneering crossing by an electric truck on a LeShuttle freight train last year. The forwarder, which is a sponsor of Generation Logistics

Scoble, who only graduated last year with a degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability from the University of Derby planned the entire trip, pinpointing charging stops, routes and overall timings, balancing charging times with transit schedules and drivers’ hours rules.

Before finishing his degree in 2025, Matthew has a longer history with

Kuehne+Nagel, he completed an industrial placement with the company between his second and third year, carrying out ESG audits of freight partners.
