Zara owner takes stake in PD Ports
[ July 28, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]Pontegadea Inversiones – an investment fund owned by founder of the Zara clothing chain Amancio Ortega – is to buy a 49% stake in PD Ports from Canadian pension fund Brookfield Asset Management. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Brookfield will however remain a shareholder, PD Ports said.
PD Ports is best known as owner and operator of Teesport and Hartlepool and is also the Statutory Harbour Authority for the River Tees. It also operates logistics and cargo handling services in a number of other locations, including Felixstowe.
