Zeus recruits green chief

The Zeus freight platform is to appoint Dr Christopher de Saxe as its first head of sustainability. Dr Saxe is currently senior research associate at the Centre for Sustainable Road Freight, University of Cambridge. In his new role he is charged with developing commercial pilot programs with electric HGVs and alternative fuels and will be the company’s representative on the Global Logistics Emissions Council and the Sustainable Freight Buyers Alliance.

At Cambridge he has helped design trials for battery electric and catenary electric trucks in the UK as part of a consortium of university and industry partners. Prior to that he was a principal engineer at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa.
