APMT to electrify Onne
[ September 23, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]APM Terminals’ West African Container Terminal (WACT) in Onne has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nigerian Ports Authority to accelerate decarbonisation across the country’s ports and transport system. The agreement, which was formalised on 22 September at the Dutch Consulate in New York, during the week of the Global African Business Initiative, establishes a roadmap for electrifying containerised freight, in line with the policies of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy in the country. The collaboration will be wholly funded by APM Terminals for US$60 million.
