Brexit – learn all about it

Multi temperature supply chain specialist Oakland International will host the first of a series of Brexit Seminars at the Crowne Plaza, NEC, Birmingham on Wednesday 28 February 2018.

Heading Oakland’s Brexit team will be director of Oakland Invicta, Robert Hardy, a former director of P&O Ferries and EurotunnelPlus, who spent five years developing and running the largest 24hour Customs clearance station in the UK at the Port of Dover. He is also an advisor to the Institute for Government on matters relating to Customs and Brexit, a funded Brexit advisor for InterTradeIreland (including InvestNI) and a registered expert with the EU Commission on matters relating to international trade and modal shift.

He stated: “Oakland International works closely with major food brands and retailers across Europe. With a variety of trade flows to and from mainland EU and our own Dublin based food storage and distribution business, our planning focus is on Brexit and preparing for what will be.”

The Birmingham seminar will cover topics including Customs and Brexit, Port Health, AEO Trusted Trader status, food safety, WTO and tariff classification, clandestine activity, simplifications, threats, Rules of Origin and post-Brexit business opportunities.
