Brexit lifts forktruck market

[ January 8, 2019   //   ]

Forklift truck maker Narrow Aisle says it is facing “unprecedented levels of demand” for short-term rentals from firms worried about potential customs delays after Brexit. It says that warehouses operators feel they need to bolster their material handling fleets as companies stockpile products to ensure their business is not affected by possible future customs or port delays, says commercial director, John Maguire.
He adds that anecdotal evidence suggests that businesses are seeking to hire additional storage space for periods of between just 6 and 12 months –enough time to ensure their supply chains do not suffer as Britain leaves the EU.
