Cars take Eurowings

Lufthansa Cargo and its partner Aircargo Consulting have developed a new process to allow larger vehicles to be carried in the bellyholds of passenger planes operated by its Eurowings subsidiary. While cars that fit on an aircraft pallet can be loaded into passenger planes, larger vehicles have until now had to be transported by freighter aircraft.

The first commercial transport of a vehicle in a Eurowings bellyhold was a Seat Arona shipped from Cologne to southern Africa on board an Airbus 330 on behalf of the IQS Group .
