Lufthansa Cargo and its partner Aircargo Consulting have developed a new process to allow larger vehicles to be carried in the bellyholds of passenger planes operated by its Eurowings subsidiary. While cars that fit on an aircraft pallet can be loaded into passenger planes, larger vehicles have until now had to be transported by freighter aircraft.

Lufthansa Cargo is to market the belly capacity of holiday airline Eurowings’ long-haul flights from the start of the summer timetable on 27 March. The network includes routes from Cologne/Boon to the Caribbean (Varadero, Cancun, Dominican Republic) and Thailand (Phuket, Bangkok).
